Sublimation Fabric Printing Technology Introduction
Sublimation Fabric Printing Technology Introduction
Model NO: sublimation fabric printing
Process Overview:
Sublimation fabric printing is a method in which special sublimation dyes are first printed onto transfer paper and then heat-pressed onto polyester or polyester-coated fabrics. Under high temperature and pressure, the dyes turn into gas and permeate the fibers, creating vivid, permanent designs that do not sit on the surface.
Advantages and Limitations:
The advantages of sublimation printing include bright, durable colors that are resistant to fading, cracking, or peeling, and the ability to reproduce photographic-quality designs. It is highly efficient for short or medium production runs and allows unlimited color combinations. Limitations include its restriction to polyester and polyester-coated fabrics, higher initial equipment costs, and unsuitability for natural fibers like cotton or wool.
Ideal Applications:
-
Polyester fabrics: jerseys, leggings, performance apparel, t-shirts, dresses, scarves
-
Polyester-coated fabrics: cushions, curtains, table linens, decorative fabrics
-
Sample printing: small-batch custom fabrics, personalized items
